Tribal. *Deep Sigh* Fucking Tribal. Sure I've done my fair share of it, and I'm even more sure I'll do some more in the future. But why? My personal thought is that every day folks want a tattoo but not sure what to get. After worrying about weather they'll like their favorite sports team 10 years from now, or concerned about what their friends will think of their new ink, they land on tribal. It's acceptable, cause so many people have it therefor unoriginal. Meaningless black lines that don't really have any kind individuality and a waste of good skin. Not to mention, to do (on my end) under minds my artistic ability and is about as much fun as "...mowing the lawn'"- SW.
So to wrap it up, if you want pointless designs on your skin, at least let me have fun and do some bio-mech or random graffiti designs. Anything but solid black skin turds! Last but not least, I'm not a fucking Xerox machine! I am an artist. |

Armbands |

In the same category as tribal there is arm bands. Some are kinda fun, but for the most part they suck. If you every had a thought , no matter how small, of getting a full sleeve, DO NOT get an arm band. These 'sleeve killers' are one of the hardest thing to work around in a full sleeve. Also most folks have no idea what an armband is all about.
History lesson!
-Among certain Native American tribes, young boys would have a leather band sewn closed around their arm. The band would grow with them until it would snap off from muscles growing and deterioration over the years. Once the band was off it was believed a boy had achieved manhood. Armband = Inferior Male
-Slaves, along being branded, had iron ring welded around their ankle as a reminder that they were not free or equal.
-Nazi's loved armbands... 'nuff said and moving on.
-Around WWII Russian prisoners starting tattooing barbed wire around their arm that means 'Life without parole.'
-Armband tattoos arrived in modern America in the late 70's. That scene was the S&M gay community. Depending on the positioning of the armband tattoo meant if you were a giver or taker.
Check wikipedia, or yahoo answers for your self, it's all true.
Now, I'm not making fun of Native American traditions, nor am I saying being gay or lesbian is a 'bad' thing. What I am getting at is do a little research on what you want PERMANENTLY on your body. It may reflect something you are not.
